AIDS Activist & Author, Kevin B. Winge
Kevin Winge holds
a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota and was executive director
of Open Arms from 1997 until 2002. In 2002 he was awarded a Bush Foundation
Leader Fellowship and obtained a master’s degree from the Kennedy School
of Government at Harvard University. As part of his Bush Fellowship, Kevin
worked in South Africa, establishing programs for people living with HIV/AIDS.
Upon completion of his fellowship in 2002, he returned to his position
at Open Arms.
Based in Minneapolis, Kevin travels and speaks
extensively on the subject of HIV/AIDS and the national and
international disparities in access to health care, and makes frequent
trips to South Africa where he continues his work to educate and bring
hope to people living with HIV/AIDS.
